Mr. Vudred Smith, Jr., known to many as Bacca, was born on January 29, 1942 in Savannah, GA. He was the son of the late Vudred and Leola Smith, Sr. He was educated in Chatham County public schools. For over 40 years Mr. Smith worked in Stucco Industry as a Plaster. He was a member of Brampton Baptist Church.
On Tuesday, August 31, 2021 he entered into eternal rest. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Ernestine Mobley and grandson Jaron Young, Jr. Along with five of his siblings; David Smith, Jr., Robert Edwards, Helen Singleton, Edith Moultrie, and Deloris Williams.
He bestows his legacy upon his wife of 60 years, Barbara Smith of Savannah, GA; four daughters: Shawna (Donn) Groover, Michelle Smith, Tina (Jaron Sr.) Young, and Chanice Smith all of Savannah, GA; two sons: Damaine (Nicky) Smith and Paul Smith both of Savannah, GA; eight grandchildren: Quaneisha, Emanie, Toby, Danielle, Damon, Emirrah, Damien, and John all of Savannah, GA; two brothers: Julius (Matterine) Smith and Larry Smith both of Savannah, GA; two sister in-laws: Minnie Smith and Eloise Harris both of Savannah, GA; one uncle: Harry Edwards and one aunt: Essie Mae Edwards both of Savannah, GA; and five godchildren: Marie, Lois, Ann, Nancy, and Elaine. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, as well as many other relatives and close friends.
Public viewing will be held 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 10, 2021 in the chapel of Campbell & Sons Funeral Home, 124 West Park Ave., Savannah, GA. 31401. Graveside services will be held 12 noon, Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Woodville Cemetery, 125 Spring Street, Savannah, GA. 31408.
