On Thursday morning, April 8, 2021 the Angels of Heaven visited Ms. Shawn L. Bush Chaney to take her home to be at the side of Our Heavenly Father. Shawn L. Chaney was born on October 19, 1965 to the late Charles Bush & Marie T. Middleton in Savannah, Ga.
Ms. Chaney was educated at Cathedral Day School where she participated on basketball and track teams, an Alumni of Thompkins High School class of 1984, and received a diploma in Early Childhood Education from Savannah Technical College. Her love for mentoring with young children led her to work at Tremont Temple Daycare, Childcare Network, ABC Childcare Center and other local childcare facilities. Ms. Chaney was a member of St. Benedict the Moor Catholic Church, she joined the CCW auxiliary during her adult years. Her favorite pastimes were planning family gatherings, attending annual class reunions, trips with the BBQ girls, shopping, outings with the ladies of ABC Childcare and most of all spending precious enjoyable moments with her grandchildren- who were the love of her life.
Her stylish wardrobe, dazzling jewelry and big smile was adored by all who knew her.
Cherishing memories are her children, Alonza(Darrell) Chaney, of Savannah, Georgia; Marcus(Victoria) Chaney who proceeded her in death, a loving and devoted daughter, Antionette(Chanty) Chaney of Savannah, Georgia; six grandchildren: B.J. Cooper, JaModd Chaney, Millae Lewis, Tori Chaney, Sherwood Young and Lil Marcus Chaney Jr. Two dedicated brothers, Derrick Bush and Rodney Patton, a loving god son, Rashad Deshawn Williams and a host of other relatives and friends.
Public viewing will be held 1-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 15, 2021 in the Chapel of Campbell and Sons Funeral Home, 124 W. Park Avenue, Savannah, Ga.
