We celebrate the life and memory of Mrs. Sharon Denise Ransom Ivy whose death occurred Saturday,August 29, 2020 at St. Joseph's Hospital.
Sharon Ransom Ivy was born in Savannah, Georgia on November 25, 1956 to the late George Ransom Sr. and the late Charles Etta (Martin) Ransom. She was the middle child of two brothers and two sisters. She was educated in local public schools and graduated from Savannah High. After graduation, she traveled extensively and lived abroad for several years, before settling back in Savannah. Her compassion and desire to help others led her to a career in healthcare at Memorial Medical Center. She ultimately found her true calling in Education and received a bachelors from Cambridge College. She went on to serve as a Media Specialist in the Savannah Public School System for 17 years.
Her personal hobbies included arts & crafts, interior design and baking. Her signature peach cobbler was the star of every family gathering. Most of all, Sharon cherished being a mother, a sister, an aunt, and a grandmother. She will truly be missed but her legacy and love lives on forever in every life she touched.
Survived by: Sons, Janaun (Janine) Ivy, Jamarri Ivy; Nephews, Darren (Katina) Parker, Leon Banks Jr, Armon Truell, George "Mikey" Turner, Rashad Coney, Chris Ta'lil Dempsey; Nieces, Cierra (Ransen) Daily, Nyrai Adams, Sybil Showe, Eboni Parker; Brothers, George (Lesa) Ransom and Charles Ransom; Grandchildren, Christine and Cara Ivy, Zii and Zai James, Ransen Jr. and Candace Daily, Chloe Turner; Aunts, Rosemary Banks and Irene Kearse; Best Friend and Life Sister: Debra Jenkins.
Preceded in Death by: Parents, George and Charles Etta Ransom; Aunts, Mildred Stevens and Edna Bryant; Siblings, Deborah, Tonya, and Linda Ransom
Public viewing will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at Campbell & Sons Funeral Home
Graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 3, 2020 at Bonaventure Cemetery (Greenwich Section) 330 Bonaventure Rd. Savannah, GA 31404
