Whitney Serria Petty was born October 23, 1993 in Savannah, GA to Detria Petty-Williams and Raymond Mack, Sr.
She attended the public schools of Savannah Chatham County, and was previously employed at the International House of Pancakes and Bojangles. Whitney often visited St. John Baptist Church, “The Mighty Fortress,” under the leadership of Rev. Dr. George P. Lee, III.
Whitney will be remembered for her smiles, love of fashion, independence and energy. She adored and loved her children unconditionally. She exhibited a zest for life that resonated with everyone who knew her.
Our beloved Whitney entered into eternal rest and peace on Sunday, May 30, 2021 at Candler Hospital at the age of 27. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. Her precious memory will live on through family and friends who knew and loved her. Whitney was preceded in death by two grandfathers, Deacon Edward Petty, II, Donald James; one grandmother, Deaconess Lillie Gore Petty; two uncles, Michael Petty, Rev. Dr. Alvin L. Petty; and one aunt and Godmother, Mrs. Ruth Brightwell.
Whitney leaves to cherish her loving memory, one daughter, Emonie Petty; one son, Daryl Petty; her mother, Detria Petty-Williams (Julius Robinson); her father, Raymond Mack, Sr.; three grandmothers, Minister Janet Futch, Queen Pryor, and Paula James; two sisters, Brittany Petty (Dominique Knight) and Malaysia Petty; six brothers, Akin Mack, Kareem Petty, Khiry Petty, Rasheen etty, Raheem Mack, and Raymond Mack, Jr.; two aunts, Kimberly Petty and Veronica Mack; three uncles, Charlie (Angel) Petty, Keith Futch, and Joseph Mack; four nieces, Ariana Knight, Akiela Mack, Akyra Petty, and Amoura Petty; six nephews, Jon Petty, Tamoun Petty, Dequan Petty, Akin Boyd, J`Sean Warren, and Zhari Petty; a special cousin, Krist`a Heyward, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Public viewing will be held 12 p.m. – 9 p.m., Friday, June 11, 2021 in the Chapel of Campbell and Sons Funeral Home, 124 W. Park Avenue, Savannah, GA. Graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Oak Grove Cemetery, Savannah, GA. (52nd and Skidaway Rd.)
