On Friday September 24, 2021 God in his infinite wisdom summoned Monica Lynn Washington home from Labor to Reward.

Monica Lynn Davis Washington was born December 30, 1964 to Margaret Ladson-Garvin. She was the eldest of three children.

Monica was educated in the Chatham County Public School System. She was a proud 1983 graduate of Alfred E Beach High School (Home of the Bulldogs). She graduated from Savannah Technical Institute and pursued a career as a nail technician. For many years, Monica was also employed by the Chatham County Board of Education as a school bus driver. Her love and compassion for her students was priceless.

On March 21, 1987, Monica was joined in Holy matrimony to the love of her life, Minister Thomas Washington.

Monica answered the call to ministry and was ordained by Apostle William Dillon in 2015. She served faithfully at New Beginnings Sanctuary under the leadership of Apostles Robert and Cynthia Jones.

Monica was also a member of The Savannah Girlfriends, Inc. Brenda L. Jackson-Brown is the Visionary & Founder. The organization empowers women through fellowship & sisterhood.

She was preceded in death by her sister Michelle Davis-Bateman, Grandmother Pastor Rosa L. Ladson, Grandfather Reverend M.J. Ladson, Uncle Leroy Ladson, Bother/Cousin Leroy K. Ladson, Sr., Nephew Leroy K. Ladson, Jr., Mother and Father-in-Law Mr. James and Queen Esther Washington.

She leaves to cherish her legacy, her loving husband Minister Thomas R. Washington, Sr.; Daughters: LaToya Senise Baker and MonTranae Elise Washington; Sons: Kairos Wellington Washington and Thomas R. Washington, Jr.; Grandchildren: Jaden Jeremiah Ryan and Elise Ni’Lai Hart; Mother: Pastor Margaret Garvin; Brother & Sister-In- Love: Timothy & Dilcia Davis; Uncle: Joseph Ladson; Aunt: Betty J. West; Sisters/Cousin: Lois Kim Ladson Walker and Darlene Ladson; Nieces: Tatyana Michelle Davis, Keiyonna Rae Ladson, Lakeisha J Pollard, Kierra C. Ladson, Kapriah D. Ladson; Nephews: Dominik R. Buckner , Miles D. Davis, Josiah Miles Davis, Kortney Jamaal Pollard; Brothers and Sisters-in-Love: Ministers James (Barbara) Washington, Ministers Randolph (Stephanie) Washington, Michael (Tracy) Washington, Pierra (Anthony) Collins, Dr. Mea McWhorter, Kendra Washington and Angela (Octavis) Butler; Godsister: Quadana (Clarence) O’Banner; Best Friends: Paula (Nathaniel) Hunter-Harvey, Dana (Rick Sr.) Brown, Apostle Samantha (Isaac Sr.) Sunkins, Denise (Wilmon) Holland, Hazel Frazier, Beautine (Sam) Hilliard, Dr. Kim (Sammie) Black, and a HUGE family circle of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who she loved very much.

Public viewing will be held 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 8, 2021 in the chapel of Campbell & Sons Funeral Home, 124 West Park Ave., Savannah, GA. 31401. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Greenwich Cemetery, 330 Bonaventure Road, Thunderbolt, GA. 31404.
