Mrs. Alfreda Clark Jenkins
A Time To Be Born:
Alfreda Clark Jenkins was born on July 19, 1933 to the late Willie Mae Flood and the late Henry Clark.
A native of Savannah, Ga. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill Jenkins, and 3 children, Willie James Gregory, Diane Delores Jenkins, and Jacqueline Jenkins.
A Time to Live:
She received her education in the public schools of Chatham Co. She worked in a domestic capacity throughout her life with 2 families, the Clarks and the Cohens where her passion for nurturing children was met. Alfreda was well known for her love of children which showed through the raising of her children, grand, and great grand children as long as she was able. She was joined in matrimony to Bill Jenkins in her 20's to which 5 children made up their loving family. Shortly after the family became members of Greater Gaines Chapel AME Church. Alfreda was a dutiful member serving in the choir, the Mother's Board, and president of the July Birth Month Club for many years.
God is love. Life is about love. Mrs. "Freda" as she was affectionately called shared her love with her church family, friends and neighbors as well as her family.
A Time to Die:
Our Lord and Savior knew his work was done, therefore he called his angel home on May 29, 2021. Mrs. "Freda" joined her husband and 3 children to rest eternally in the fathers kingdom. There she will feel no more pain, and no more sorrows of this world. Now she rests in heaven and forever will be resting in our hearts.
