Tyrone Willie Holmes also known as Babyboy and Rone was born August 3,1996 to the late Elaer Mae Washington. At a very young age, Tyrone knew he loved the Lord. He was bought up in Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church where he was baptized under the late Rev. Dr. Wilson Scott, Jr. While at Bethlehem, Tyrone attended Sunday School, a member of the youth workers, and the Step Team “Rams In the Bush”. He dedicated his life to God by praising him through Gospel Rap.
Tyrone attended the public schools of Chatham County where he was a 2015 graduate of Alfred Ely Beach High School. He participated in several programs such as Student Leadership (SLP), Jobs for Georgia Graduates (JGG), DECA, Chairman for Student Senate, Chaplin of the football team, and was crowned Mr. Beach 2015. Tyrone was affiliated with the Savannah Youth Commission. He was very active in his community where he was one of the founders of Try God Outreach Ministries. He worked with the kids at Urban Hope Summer Camp.
Tyrone loved to express himself in his music,, where he joined (AWOL), a theater and performing arts program. Upon graduation, Tyrone received a four year Bill Gates Millennium Scholarship and The Ronald McNair Scholarship as well as attended Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA. During school breaks, Tyrone always came back to his Alma Mater to help other students with their scholarship applications.
On November 3, 2021, while living in Atlanta, Tyrone was called home to be with the Lord. He will forever be in our hearts and miss by all who knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish his memories; his aunt and guardian, Marie Holmes of Savannah, GA., his father Tyrone (Lynn) Bowens of Atlanta, GA, his uncle Minister Willie (Shonte) Holmes of Savannah, GA., a dear cousin, Ebony Holmes of Savannah, GA., his paternal grandmother, Sarah Scott of Savannah, GA., his uncle, Daniel (Hazel) Holmes, Jr., of Virginia Beach, VA., his aunt, Aleathia Bowens of Savannah, GA., a devoted godmother, Patricia W. Gardner of Savannah, GA., and a host of other family and friends.
Public viewing will be held 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Friday, November 12, 2021 at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, 1008 May Street, Savannah, GA. 31415. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 13, 2021 at New Generation Full Gospel Baptist Church, 2020 Tennessee Ave., Savannah, GA. 31404. Interment ~ Woodville Cemetery, 125 Spring Street, Savannah, GA. 31408.
