Mr. Harold Franklin LaCount was born April 21, 1952 in Savannah Ga to the late Mr. Jacob LaCount and Mary LaCount.
Harold was educated in the public schools in Savannah, GA, where he graduated from A. E. Beach High School.
Harold worked for the Chatham County Public Works for 30 years and retired in 2002 after many dedicated years of service with the Road Maintenance Department. He was also an employee at Walmart for more than 20 years. He played a major role in performing his maintenance skills. He kept Store #635 (Savannah, GA) together, and he will truly be missed.
Mr. Harold was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, and Friend. He would do anything for his family. The “Man” was remarkable! He was a life long fan of the San Francisco 49ers.
He entered into eternal rest on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Fredrick LaCount, Levern LaCount, Charles LaCount, Earl LaCount, Ernerst LaCount, Ophelia Robinson, Rosemary Jordan-Brown and Shirly Ann Smith.
He leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted wife of 47 years, Ethel LaCount, four children, Harold LaCount, Jr., Talaine LaCount, Shante Brown and Katina Winston, eleven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, relatives, a dedicated friend, Mr. Harold “H”, and numerous and friends.
Public viewing will be held 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 10, 2021 in the chapel of Campbell & Sons Funeral Home, 124 West Park Ave., Savannah, GA. 31401. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Abyssinia Missionary Baptist Church, 1622 Ogeechee Road, Savannah, GA. 31415. Interment ~ Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, 315 Bonaventure Road, Savannah, GA. 31404.
