Mr. Ernest Raymond Tisdale, Sr.

December 27, 1955 ~ January 5, 2022 (age 66)

We celebrate the life and memory of Mr. Ernest Raymond Tisdale, Sr.  whose death occurred Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at his residence.

Ernest Raymond Tisdale Sr. was born on December 27, 1955 in Bronx, New York to his parents Mr. Ernest Tisdale and Mrs. Nianza Crawford Tisdale. He passed away in death on January 5, 2022.

He attended public school in New York until the age of 16 when he came to live in Savannah Georgia with his grandmother Helen Gary. He then went on to graduate from Groves high school in 1975.

After completing high school he was employed on several jobs which included working at Union Camp Corporation, Roger Wood Packing Company, Gulfstream Corporation, and eventually joining the City of Savannah as a heavy equipment truck driver for which he worked 23 years until he retired.

In his early years Ernie developed a fondness for music and entertainment which led him to become a DJ in his later years even after retiring . He loved playing basketball and in his spare time he coached a basketball team at a local recreation center. Ernie became acquainted with the truth through his grandmother which led to his dedication and water baptism on July 6, 1985.

He was joined in marriage to Constance Maria King on October 19, 1985. And from this union was born two children his daughter Coryn Tisdale Williams (Antonio) and his son Ernest Raymond Tisdale II.

Before his health failed he enjoyed the door to door ministry as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses where he never met a stranger. He was good at communicating with the people and those who knew him remembered him as a young man in their neighborhood affectionately giving him the nickname Cornbread. Whenever he was assigned to deliver a Public Bible reading he took this assignment very seriously, practicing out loud for several hours so as to deliver a flawless reading. He looked forward to the fulfillment of the promise found at Revelation 21:3, 4 : “With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say:” look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. and God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore., the former things have passed away.”

He will be missed by his wife of 36 years: Constance King Tisdale, daughter: Coryn Tisdale Williams (Antonio), son: Ernest Raymond Tisdale II, two grandsons: Antonio Denado Williams Jr. and Khari Miguel Williams, sister: Jocelyn Hicks (Richard), four brothers: Gary Tisdale, Terrance Tisdale, Michael Tisdale (Pamela), and Anthony Tisdale (predeceased, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
