We celebrate the life and memory of Mrs. Mary Lee Wright Gibson whose death occurred Saturday, October 10, 2020 at St. Joseph's Hospital.
Mary L. Wright Gibson was born on February 4, 1935 in Garnett, SC. raised by the late Nathan and Anna Wright.
Mary went to public school in Garnett, SC, and completed her education in New York City. Where she earned her Cosmetology license and became a certified Home Health Aide. She was employed by the New York City Board of Education System until she retired in 1993 and moved to Savannah, Georgia.
Mary was a faithful member of Goodwill Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as President of the Mass Choir for many years and was an active member of the Women’s Single Ministry.
She loved singing, and one of the highly requested songs for her to lead was “Order My Steps, by GMWA Women of Worship.” She was a great Photographer, loved reading, and enjoyed traveling.
In his infinite wisdom, God saw fit to take Mary L Gibson to eternal rest on the morning of October 10, 2020, at St. Joseph/ Candler Hospital in Savannah, GA. Her family and friends will sadly miss her
Those left to cherish precious memories include her only living son Kenneth Wright of Brooklyn, NY, Daughter Tammy (Andrew) Greene of Somerset, NJ, Favorite Cousin/sister Viola Simpson of Savannah, GA, six Grand Daughters, Eboney Warren, Nichole Jefferson, Tarynn Warren, Delilah Wright, Niya Greene, and Ashana Greene and five grandsons Kenneth Wright Jr., Supreme Warren, Tasheem Warren, Ronnie Warren. Great Grands Andrielle Warren, Armani Warren, Antwan Young Jr., Kylah Jefferson, Malaysia Jefferson. Derrick Gibson, Diane Gibson, Karen Gibson, Gloria Gibson.
Hosts of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death, Ronnie Haynes (son), Andrew Warren (son), Elijawon Jefferson Jr. (Great-grandson), Mildred Tilson, and Lillian Perkins (sisters), Frankie Scott (brother), Dorothy Brown Scott (Mother).
Public viewing will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday, October 16, 2020 at Campbell & Sons Funeral Home 124 W. Park Ave. Savannah, GA
Graveside service will be held 12 noon Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery Hunter Army Airfield Savannah, GA
