We celebrate the life and memory of Mrs. Lillie Mae Golden whose death occurred Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at Thunderbolt Transitional Care & Rehab in Thunderbolt, GA.
Lillie was born on February 25, 1929 in Savannah, GA. Lillie was the daughter of the late Johnnie and Maude Smith Herrington.
Lillie was married to the late Paul Golden, who was a military man. She traveled throughout the country with her husband.
Lillie had three children, Pamala, Paulette and Kendrith Golden. Lillie finally settled in Brooklyn, NY with her daughters Pamela (Pumplin) and Paulette (Tiny) to work. Kendrith stayed behind in Savannah with his Aunt and Uncle.
Lillie was a Seamstress in a Garmet Factory. She worked there until she retired with Honors. Upon retiring from work Lillie returned to Savannah to live. Lillie roots were always in Savannah and Sardis. She made many trips to Savannah to see Kendrith and also to Sardis to visit the rest of the family.
She was a member of First Nazareth Baptist Church .
Lillie preceded all three of her children, sisters and brothers.
Lillie leaves to cherish her memories four grandchildren, Rodney (Tonya Bell) Golden of Brooklyn, NY, Malika (Edward) Farmer of Raleigh, NC, Charlette Golden of Brooklyn, NY, Kendron Golden of Atlanta, GA, five great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, one daughter-in-law, Julia Golden of Atlanta, GA, two sisters-in-law, Ruth Herrington of Savannah, GA, and Bennie (Babysister) Gordon of Atlanta, GA, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Public Viewing will be held 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2020 in the Chapel.
Graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 18, 2020 at
Magnolia Memorial Gardens
