Master Jakhari Whalen whose death occurred Thursday, December 24, 2020 at his residence.
Jakhari Dewayne Whalen age 14 was called home to be with the Lord after battling 4years of pediatric cancer on Thursday December 24, 2020 at his resident in Hephzibah, Ga surrounded by family. Jakhari Dewayne Whalen was born to Ricky Ramon Reeves and Tianha Taylor in Charlotte, on October 11, 2006. He was raised by his aunt the late Ada Whalen and by his aunt and uncle Ronald and Quevella Coleman, Jr.
Jakhai was a sweet and loving child who stole the hearts of everyone he met. He was also very bright and smart in school, and through it all he maintained AB honor roll. He attended Hephzibah Middle School where he played in the band. Jakhari loved to read, draw, and create his own comic books, building Lego action figure was his favorite and he also loved playing his video games with his friends. Jakhari was full of humor and loved to crack jokes. He enjoyed playing outside with his friends and he also loved nature. He was very fond of animals such as his pet turtle rocky.
Jakhari was member of St. Philip A.M.E. Church where he was a faithful Sunday School Student, he sang in the Lillie G. Mason Youth Choir, a member of the Frankie G. Ellis Jr. Usher Board, Fervent Prayer Warrior, and attended Vacation Bible School yearly.
Jakhari is preceded in death by his, Aunt Ada Whalen, Great Grandmother Merline Reeves and Uncle Timothy Thomas.
Jakhari leaves unforgettable memories of love in the hearts and mind of his family, Aunt and Uncle Quevella and Ronald Coleman Cousins Destinee Coleman, Ronald Coleman III, Rashad Ladson Father, Ricky R. Reeves (Vickie) Siblings, Rickyra Reeves, Ricky Reeves Jr., Rickel Reeves, Rictoria Reeves Grandparents, Estella Reeves, Christine Blake, Stanley Brown Aunts Miracle Reeves and Pamela Reeves Uncles, Rodney Attaway, Jovon Reeves, Ricky Thomas (Sheila), Leonard Reeves, Stanley Brown Jr. and Anthony Coleman, and a host of devoted cousins, family and friends.
Public viewing will be held 1-6 p.m. Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Campbell & Sons Funeral Home (124 W. Park Ave. Savannah, GA 31401)
Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 4, 2021 at St. Philip AME Church (613 MLK, Jr. Blvd. Savannah, GA 31401)
