We celebrate the life and memory of Ms. Hazel Williams whose death occurred Monday, October 26, 2020 at Memorial University Health Center.
Ms. Hazel Marie Williams was born in Savannah, GA on February 20, 1964 to the late Wade Williams and Leola Quarterman-Johnson.
Hazel was educated in the Chatham County Public School system and was a 1982 graduate of Tompkins High School. She attended South College majoring in Nursing and was currently enrolled in Colorado Tech majoring in substance abuse counseling.
Hazel accepted Christ at an early age and was active number of the Savannah Baptist Center until she fell ill. Hazel was a active member of Free at Last. Her compassion and empathy for others was unwavering. She was a volunteer for many organizations from the streets to the street ministry being one. She later started her own organization looking back and moving forward. Hazel was a force to be reckoned with her love for God, family and friends was unmeasured. She loved with her whole heart and will be greatly missed.
On October 26, 2020 God whispered in her ear my child job well done. Come home at take you rest. Free from pain and sorrow. Hazel is now resting un the gentle arms of our Lord and Savior.
Welcomed by her two sons, Nathaniel Andrew Williams and Valancia Randall Williams whom preceded her in death.
Hazel leaves behind to cherish her memories, two brothers, Robert Boyd Pearson and Rufus Quarterman (Myrtle) all of Savannah, GA, two sisters, her twin, Maida Williams (Herman) of Tifton, GA, Vanessa Johnson-West (Kenneth) of Savannah, GA, her heart-string a very special nephew, Jay’den Johnson, special nieces, Elizabeth Hayward, Stephanie Riley, Vergenia Williams, Jada West, and Valencia West all of Savannah, GA, a loving and devoted cousin, Melissa Quarterman of Savannah, GA, a Goddaughter, Ayonna Jones, a host of nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Public viewing will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday, November 6, 2020 at Campbell & Sons Funeral Home (124 W. Park Ave. Savannah, GA)
Graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Woodville Cemetery (Roberts St. Savannah, GA)
