We celebrate a well-lived life of 97 years. Charlie Joseph Slee, Jr. passed peacefully on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at GW’s Personal Care Home.
Charlie was born on Skidaway Island, GA to Lillie and Charlie Joseph Slee, Sr. on September 27, 1923.
Charlie was educated in the public schools of Chatham County. He was a veteran of the U. S, Navy and a retired United States Postal Worker.
In his early years, Charlie coached little league softball. An avid golfer, he was a dedicated member of the Duffers Golf Club and enjoyed playing golf on Wednesdays and Saturdays with members of the club.
Charlie was a parishioner of St Benedict the Moor Catholic Church.
Charlie is survived by three daughters, Elaine Campbell of Savannah, GA, Emily Brown-Ruth of Pooler, GA, and Anne Marie Johnson of Atlanta, GA; two sons, Lorenzo Brown of Miami, FL and Charlie Joseph Slee, III of Apopka, FL; ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and many close friends/golf associates.
Charlie was a privilege to know and love, and we would appreciate your help in creating a memorable final farewell. In lieu of flowers the family requests financial contributions be made to St Benedict the Moor Catholic Church 441 East Broad St. Savannah, GA 31401.
