We celebrate the life and memory of Mrs. Catherine Mobley whose death occurred Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at her residence.
If anyone should ever write down, my life story.
For whatever reason there might be.
You’d be there between each line of pain and glory!
Jesus is the best thing that ever happened to me!
My life has been such a great journey, it would take pages to fully express all of my life experiences, however for this occasion I will only give the most important facts of my encounters.
I, Catherine Louise Williams Mobley, was born January 4, 1938 to the union of Josephus and Edna Williams. I was raised in McIntosh, Georgia, Liberty County. I was educated in Liberty County School System and graduated from Liberty County High School. I joined St. Peter’s AME Church at an early age. After graduating, I moved to Savannah and attended Savannah State College. I was employed by the Sadler Family, where I met the love of my life, Herman Mobley. In 1961, two became one and with this union three beautiful kids were born. I joined Bethlehem Baptist Church in Savannah, Georgia. where I worked diligently as Missionary to Society, Usher, Sunday School, Deaconess and other organizations. After working at Barnett Educational Supplies for over 20 years, I retired December 2019.
Preceded in death by two brothers, Cleveland (Fronita) Stripling and Josephus (Helen) Williams of Midway, Georgia; one sister, Thelma Fields of Pembroke, Georgia.; one sister-n-law, Cornelia Mobley of Savannah, Georgia; a devoted cousin Ethel E. Richardson of Jacksonville, Florida.
I leave to cherish my memories my husband, Herman Mobley; three children: Jill (James) Golden of Fairburn, Georgia; Kevin (Chalette) Mobley of St. Mary’s, Georgia; Andrea Latrelle Mobley of Savannah, Georgia; one brother-n-law Minus Mobley (Mary Joann) of Savannah, Georgia; two aunts, Edith Crawford and Hayde Rhaney both of Savannah, Georgia and a devoted friend, Verne J. Lucky of Hinesville, Georgia; grandchildren James Golden II, Jacoby Golden, Ciara Mobley, and Kevin Mobley II and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
If you miss me from living down here,
You can’t find me anywhere,
Come on up to God’s Glory
I’ll be waiting up there!
