Obituary

 We celebrate the life and memory of Mrs. Carolyn Brown whose death occurred Friday, December 25, 2020 at Memorial Health University Medical Center.

Carolyn Elaine Brown was born on April 17, 1957 to the late Deacon and Deaconess Henry and Clyde Beatrice Shellman. She was the youngest of four children, Sharon, Karen and Marilyn her twin sister.

She accepted Christ at the early age of 8, under the pastorialship of Rev. William Daniels at Zion Hill Baptist Church. As she grew in her Christian faith she joined Fresh Fire from Heaven Christian Church under the leadership of Bishop Lee F. Jenkins. Carolyn was a faithful servant at Fresh Fire as she participated and served on the Usher Board, Missionary Board, Bible Study, and weekly prayer on Fridays and Saturdays. She loved children and often held Bible Study in her home for the youth in her neighborhood as well as friends of her children. The impact Carolyn made on the youth still carries on til this day.

Carolyn’s early education was received at St. Mary’s Catholic School from kindergarten to 8th grade. Upon her graduation from St. Mary’s she attended Windsor Forest High School and graduated in 1975. She furthered her education at Savannah Vocational Technical College in the area of Business Administration.

Her work history included the following: Civilian Personnel Clerk in the Human Resources Dept. of Hunter Army/Air Force Base, Intake clerk at Georgia Regional Hospital, and Dietary  personnel at Hospice.

In 1978 Carolyn was joined in Holy Matrimony to Keith L.C. Louper, Sr. to this union they were blessed with three wonderful children, two daughters and one son, Kameelah, Jemilla and Keith L.C. Louper, Jr. In 2007, post their union, Carolyn married Jessie Lee Brown who preceded her in death.

On Christmas morning 2020, God softly whispered in her ear “Come Home” and she took flight to be with Him.

Carolyn leaves to cherish her loving memory, two daughters, Kameelah Stewart (Kelvin), Jemilla Louper (Juan), one son, Keith L.C. Louper, Jr. all of Savannah, GA, five grandsons, Devante Daniels, Keith L.C. Louper, Jr., Keith L.C. Louper, III, Tyler Grant, Juan Ulmer, Jr. all of Savannah, GA, two granddaughters, Cherish Daniels and Anya Mitchell all of Savannah, GA, three sisters, and one brother, Sharon Hampton (Anthony), Karen Grant (Edwin), and Marilyn Mike (Richard, Jr.) all of Savannah, GA and Martin Shellman (Atlanta), one goddaughter, Colette Mike, one godson, Tyree Brown, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family relatives and friends.     

Public viewing will be held 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Campbell & Sons Funeral Home (124 W. Park Ave. Savannah, GA) 

Graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Bonaventure Cemetery (Greenwich Section) (330 Bonaventure Rd. Savannah, GA)
