Mr. Brian Maurice Barnes was born on March 16, 1968 in Savannah, GA. Brian was the fifth child and only son of the Eloise Owens Barnes and the late Alfonso Barnes. Mr. Brian Maurice Barnes was born on March 16, 1968 in Savannah, GA. Brian was the fifth child and only son of the Eloise Owens Barnes and the late Alfonso Barnes. Brian was baptized at an early age and became a member of Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church. Brian was a 1986 graduate of Robert W Groves High School. Following his father’s footsteps, Brian joined the United States Marine Corps where he served his country honorably for 4 years. After military service, Brian traveled the high seas and worked as a Merchant Marine onboard United States Naval Aircraft Carriers to places abroad such as Guam and Japan. When he returned to the United States in 1998, became a long-haul truck driver for over 17 years. At the time of his death, he was currently employed by Owens Corning Corporation.
On Friday, February 19, 2021, Brian entered eternal rest at Memorial University Medical Center. He is preceded in death by his father, Alfonso Barnes and sister, Gloria Barnes-Hayes. He leaves to cherish hi precious memories: his loving mother Eloise Barnes, sisters Pernae Barnes of Savannah, GA; Rita Ready (Emmett Sr) of Pooler, GA, and Michelle Jones (Jack) of Newport News, VA; two uncles: Clifton Jones and Herma Owens both of Savannah, GA; three nieces and eight nephews, four great nieces and nine great nephews, cousins, and friends.
Public viewing will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday, February 26, 2021 at Campbell and Sons Funeral Home (124 W. Park Ave. Savannah, GA 31401)
