We celebrate the life and memory of Mrs. Barbara Coleman King whose death occurred Monday, June 15, 2020 at Memorial Health University Medical Center.
On Monday morning, June 15, 2020, the Angels of Heaven visited Ms. Barbara C. King to take her home to be at the side our Our Heavenly Father.
Ms. Barbara C. King was born on August 22, 1944, to the Late Mr. & Mrs. Joseph (Cathalee) Coleman in Savannah, Ga. At a young age Ms. King joined Resurrection of our Lord Catholic Church formally known as St. Anthony’s Catholic Church where she served faithfully. Ms. King attended Sophronia M. Tompkins High School and received her LPN license from Savannah Technical School. She was a nurse at Memorial Hospital and later worked at Westside Urban Health, and Eli Whitney as a school nurse until her retirement. Ms. King was active in her community and served on the Board for the Housing Authority for several years. Those left to cherish her life and legacy are her children Frank A. King Sr. (Julia) of Savannah, Georgia; Wanda A. King-Johnson, of Savannah, Georgia; and Cornell P. King Sr. (Tyese) of Atlanta, Georgia; seven grandchildren: Shaneisla L. Taylor (Jonathan), Ashle’ S. King, Anjuli C. Derien (Kyron), Frank A. King Jr., Lowell “Kenny” Johnson Jr., Kaneisha R. Johnson, and Cornell “CJ” King Jr.; eight great-grandchildren: ShaKayla J. King, Armoni G. Taylor, Shane X. Baker, Frank “Tripp” King III, Jasmine L. Johnson, Jonathan “JT” Taylor II, Juliana G. King, and Terrell “TJ” Bell Jr.; two brothers: Joseph L. Coleman (Diane) and Ronald J. Coleman (Rev. Gwendolyn); three sisters: Anita Coleman, Brenda Coleman-Marsh, and Belinda Coleman-Green (Tracy); and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Public viewing will be held 2-6 p.m. Sunday, June 21, 2020 in the Chapel.
Graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 22, 2020 at
Magnolia Memorial Gardens
