Zamani
Burson
Oct 13, 1998 — Feb 7, 2026
Zamani Adeline Burson affectionally called "Mani" was born October 13, 1998, to Gina M. Burson-Bennett and Steven L. Johnston.
Zamani accepted Christ at an early age as her personal savior. She was baptized at Friendship Baptist Church under the late Rev. Joseph Fields. She was an avid member of the youth choir and active member of the church.
Mani loved life, loved her children and her family and mostly she loved having fun. She enjoyed dancing around the house with her kids and going out to dinner with her sisters. Her favorite pastime was cooking extravagant meals. She was educated by the Chatham County Public School System; from Juliet Gorden Low Elementary School to Hubert Middle School and finally Sol C. Johnson High School. After finishing school, she held various jobs and even started her own small ventures. She had a love for entrepreneurship and a business mindset. She had several ventures such as nail technician, caterer, make-up artist.; always had grand ideas and was ready to step into them. Everyone who knew Mani knew she was a passionate person. If you were blessed to call her a friend, she always had your back and only spoke the truth. Despite the chronic illness that tried to take her joy, Mani made sure to live each day as best she could. Her biggest dream was to become an author. She wanted to title her book "Surviving Sickle Cell"; to tell her story and give a guide to help others with Sickle Cell navigate the struggles and experiences that the disease presented. She was a vocal advocate about her health and Sickle Cell Anemia.
On Saturday morning February 7, 2026, at Memorial Health University, the Lord called Zamani by name, and she answered the call. She peacefully transitioned into the next life to be with our Heavenly Father.
Zamani leaves a robust legacy of everlasting love with her two children Genesis Vyn'Lai Burson and Geonni Va'Cyntai Griffin; her parents, Gina M. Burson-Bennett, Steven L. Johnston and Eushannon Bennett (Stepfather); her four sisters, Zakira M. Burson, Zalika T.
