He later attended Savannah State University, where he proudly served as Drum Major, and continued his education at Savannah Technical College.
Following his studies, Rollo worked at Ductile before answering the call to serve his country. Following graduation, he was assigned to Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, as a Private. Through dedication and exemplary service, he earned the rank of Private First Class in 1979.

In 1984, he was deployed to Okinawa, Japan, and Agana, Guam. His leadership and technical expertise earned him promotion to Sergeant. In 1988, he was assigned to Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, South Carolina, where he supervised Special Services operations until his honorable discharge in 1989.
Following his military service, Rollo returned home to Savannah, Georgia, before later relocating to Stone Mountain, Georgia.
A man of deep faith, Rollo faithfully served as a Deacon at First Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. He loved the Lord and served his church family with dedication, humility, and compassion.
Rollo enjoyed fishing, meticulously caring for his lawn, and playing the saxophone. Music was always close to his heart, from leading bands as Drum Major at Savannah State University to sharing his talents with family and friends. He found joy in fellowship, laughter, and spending time with those he loved.
Above all else, Rollo cherished his family. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren, relatives, and friends wholeheartedly. His strength, wisdom, humor, and unwavering love will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
