Celebrating the long-lived life of Mother Sophie Edwards Simmons, 100, who entered eternal rest on Friday, October 3, 2025 at home surrounded by her loved ones.

She leaves to mourn and carry on her legacy 9 children: Thomas (Earlyn) Simmons, Jr., Elliott (Grace) Simmons, Sr., Sadie Mae Brown, Leroy Simmons, Jackie (Christine) Simmons, Audrey Brown, Rex Simmons, Gildea (Joe Jr.) Stripling and Elaine (Lynette) Childs-Patterson; a brother, James Edwards; and an enormous amount of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

A Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Fairlawn Baptist Church, 4717 Augusta Ave. Garden City, GA 31408.

Celebration of Life Services will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 11:00am at Fairlawn Baptist Church, 4717 Augusta Ave. Garden City, GA 31408.

Interment ~ Whitehall Cemetery, Port Wentworth, GA 31407.
