Mr. James Alvin Daughtry Sr. was born on February 10, 1947 in Clyo, GA to the late Willie Daughtry and Vonnie Daughtry. He was educated in the Chatham Country Public School System. James worked for Housing Authority of Savannah as maintenance and (EOA)Economic Opportunity Authority for Savannah-Chatham County, Inc.

On the morning of July 11,2024, James left his earthly home for his eternal home while visiting St. Joseph Hospital.

He leaves behind his brother Tyrone (Michelle) Daughtry, best friend (like a brother) Jerome Coleman Sr., his children Rhonda Coxon, Pamela Miles, James Daughtry Jr, Michelle (Sidney) Carter, Darrell (Lisa) Smalls, Tiffany (Michael) Reynolds, and Marcus (Kimberly) Daughtry, along with Sean (Sheila) Scott and Kellie (Derry) Pinkston.

23 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousin, and close family friends.

Public Viewing will be held 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at Campbell and Sons Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at St. Paul CME Church, 1601 Barnard St. Savannah, GA 31401.
