Obituary

Frank Herman Smith Jr., affectionately known as "JR," was born on December 18, 1979, in the small town of Ferriday, Louisiana, to the late Frank H. Smith Sr. and Patricia Brooks Smith.

A proud graduate of Ferriday High School's Class of 1997, Frank set his sights on a bright future and moved to Buford, Georgia in 1998 to pursue new career opportunities. It was there, in 2004, that he met the love of his life, Cotia Wallace. The two were united in marriage in 2007, and from their beautiful union came three cherished children.

Frank was a hardworking and dedicated man. He spent ten years with Sherwin-Williams Warehouse before relocating to Savannah, Georgia, where his heart for service truly shined. In 2007 Frank accepted the Lord into his life wholeheartedly. Frank became a member of Resurrection Ministries of Christ, where he served as an Armor Bearer. Frank devoted his life to serving God and serving God's people.

Frank worked with numerous nonprofit organizations, including Savannah Feed The Hungry and America's Second Harvest, touching countless lives through his compassion and generosity. He later joined FODAC (Friends of Disabled Adults and Children), a company he deeply loved and where he found great purpose serving others.

In the early morning of November 6, 2025, the Lord decided He needed another general and called Frank home to rest. Though his earthly journey has ended, his love, laughter, and selflessness will live forever in the hearts of those he touched.

Frank leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Cotia Wallace-Smith; three beloved children, Javarrius Smith, Wisdom Smith, and Andrew Smith; his loving mother, Patricia Brooks Smith; one sister, Yolanda Smith; his mother-in-law, Elizabeth M. Wallace; two brothers-in-law, Cedric Wallace (Amber) and Charles Hall (Brandi); three nieces, seven nephews, and two Godchildren Kendall, and Makai. He also leaves behind a host of cousins, extended family, and friends who lovingly called him "Uncle Jr."

Frank's heart was big enough to hold everyone he met. He will be remembered for his humor, his kindness, and his unwavering love for his family. Though he may be gone from our sight, his light will forever shine in our hearts.
