Obituary

We celebrate the life and memory of Mr. Darrin Brown, Sr. whose death occurred on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at his residence.

Darrin Keith Brown Sr. was born to Barbara Marie Brown on April 7, 1966. He was raised by his mother and grandmother Thelma Elizabeth Kemp. His education began at Ramah Jr. Academy, St. Mary's Catholic School and continued through Savanah Chatham Public Schools. After graduating from Savannah High School in 1984, Darrin enlisted in the United States Air Force. He ended his military career in 1995 as a Seargent earning many commendations. He then went on to work for Chatham County at the courthouse and Building Safety and Regulatory Services. At the time of his passing, he was employed with The Social Independent Living Facility where he was well loved by the residents and staff.

Everyone that knew Darrin knew that music was a major part of his life. At the age of 13, he worked as a junior disc jockey at WEAS / E93 mentored by his cousin "Master Ronald Fly" which led to providing music and entertainment for many house parties and school events. While still in his teens he formed the DJ group "Knights of the Sound Table" that was well known for bringing down the house everywhere they would spin. As an adult he started "First Born Productions" and served as the host DJ for community events and was the emcee at several night clubs including Mutuals and Liquid Cafe.

Darrin leaves to cherish his memory, daughters Tanika White, Kendra Burwick and Teca Tipton; son Darrin K Brown Jr.; sister La Shaun Brown; nephew Maurice Brown (Valyncia); niece Erin Stones; eight grandchildren and "Lil Bro" Glen Grant along with several other relatives and friends.
