Dr. Daniel Brantley, Sr. born on April 15, 1944, in Savannah, GA finished his earthly life on May 15, 2025, at Memorial Health Medical Center, at the age of 81 and began his eternal journey with his Savior. He is preceded in death by his mother Mary Brantley, and one half-brother, Willie Lee Robinson. He was married to the late Flossie C. Brantley for 48 years.
A proud graduate of Sol C. His wisdom and quiet dignity left a lasting impression on students and staff alike. His professional teaching career spanned more than 40 years. He severed his community for over the years on the Regional Board of Trustees of the Live Oak Public Libraries and most recently as Chairman of the Aging Services Advisory Council of the Coastal Regional Commission.
Dr. Brantley was a man of many passions. An avid reader and lifelong learner, he was also a gifted artist known for his sketches and paintings. After his wife's passing, Dr. Brantley found community among other seniors. He delighted greatly in the people, programs and events at the City of Savannah's Pennsylvania Avenue Resource Center (PARC) Golden Age Program and St. Josphe's/Candler SmartSenior Program. And he was a devout man of faith committed to his church, Mt. Tabor Baptist Church and to living a life of spiritual integrity and quiet strength.
Dr. Daniel Brantley, a beloved father and educator, lived a life marked by scholarship, service, faith, and deep love for his family. He was married to the love of his life, Flossie C. (Smith) Brantley, from 1972 until her passing. Their union of 48 years was blessed with four children.
Dr. Brantley is survived by his sons and daughter: Daniel Jr. of Savannah, GA, Nicole of Jacksonville, FL, Jonathan of Vista, CA, and Adam Brantley of Savannah, GA, and nine grandchildren: Corey Nicholas Baker, Daniel Nike Nolan, Jonathan Jr., Makayah, Savannah, Nevaeh, Ariana-Nicole, LaVaughn, and Emani Brantley; along with several relatives and friends.
To those who knew him, Dr. Daniel Brantley thrived not just in title, but in purpose as a father, a mentor, a servant to the community, and above all, a man of God. His legacy of wisdom, humility, and love will endure in the lives he touched.
