Ms. Annette Knight was born on October 11, 1955 in Savannah, Georgia. She was the oldest child of the late John Knight, Sr. and Pecola W. Knight. Annette was baptized at an early age, and accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She attended First Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church in Savannah, Georgia. The Lord called Annette home on Saturday, November 22, 2025 while being cared for at Memorial Health University Medical Center.
Being educated in the Chatham County School System, Annette graduated from Savannah High School in 1973. After graduation, she would attend Savannah Vocational Technical College taking classes in Business Administration. In 1980, Annette relocated to Atlanta, Georgia to pursue her career in the insurance industry. She was a devoted employee of American Family Life Insurance Company, working as a Claims Adjuster for many years. In 2006, Annette returned to Savannah, where she would work at the Quality Inn Downtown Savannah as a Night Auditor until retirement.
As the eldest of five children, Annette assisted her parents caring for her brothers and sisters while they worked to provide for the family. As years passed, and the family grew; she would also nurture, support and encourage her nieces and nephews. Annette loved her family dearly and was affectionally called "Auntie" by everyone. She was known for welcoming her grand-nieces and grand-nephews to spend hours at her home. She enjoyed watching westerns and was a diehard football fan.
