The beautiful life of Ashley Shamon Hunter began on October 17, 1986 in Savannah, GA. She was the oldest child born to John Fitzgerald Hunter Sr. and Wendy Bright Hunter.
Ashley was educated in the Savannah Chatham County Public School System and graduated High School with Groves High School Class of 2005. During her high school years Ashley lead the Rebels Cheer Squad as Captain and displayed a high level of school spirits. Ashley’s ambition to obtain a higher level of education later lead her to pursue and obtain a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice from Saint Leo University. In addition to her classroom training Ashley completed Basic Community Supervision Officer Training Course (BMP15G) through the State of Georgia Department of Community Supervision.
Ambitious and eager to work Ashley began working at an early age. She embodied a strong work ethic. Her work experience was ignited at Cahaba GBA and Optim Healthcare. Later in life Ashley gained employment with the Georgia Department of Community Supervision where she served diligently. Ashley took great pride in her service to the Weatherspoon Agency of American Income Life in the position of Life Insurance Agent. She was highly respected and loved by her coworkers.
Ashley had a love for many things; her first love was her family and she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Those close to Ashley would describe her as a “burst of sunshine". She always opened her heart to friends and family. Ashley touched the lives of many people with her smile and generosity, and maintained her trademark sense of humor all the way to the end.
On, Wednesday, October 16, 2019 Ashley transition from her earthly home with family and friends to her heavenly home with God.
Loving memories of Ashley will be forever cherished by her children, Elijah Burkes and Ashlynn Kent. Loving parents John Fitzgerald Hunter and Wendy Bright-Hunter. One brother John F. Hunter, Jr.; a niece Kylee Hunter; two aunts Susan Sanders and Geneva Sams (Mendoza); three uncles Joe, Robert and Darnell Hunter; Janet Bryant, Godmother. As well as a host of cousins, friends and extended family members who were blessed to know her.

Temple of Glory Community Church
